Conifer native to Korea and Japan with ascending branches close to the trunk. The needles are spirally arranged, bright green, and up to 6 cm long. It struggles in dry and poorly drained soils; in warm climates, it is better placed in partial shade, while in cool climates, full sun exposure is preferred.
