Catalpa
Tree native to North America, with a short trunk and a sparse, rounded crown. The leaves are large, up to 25 cm wide, oval in shape, and light green in color—bright yellow in the bignonioides variety “Aurea.” The flowers are abundant and showy, appearing in June–July, gathered in upright clusters, white with yellow and purple shades. It prefers fresh, fertile soils but adapts to all soil types. Sometimes it suffers from frost, but the dwarf variety, propagated by grafting, is resistant to air pollution.
