Castanea sativa Standard

Origin: Eastern Europe, North Africa, Middle East. Large deciduous tree with broad, high crown. Bright green oblong leaves (15-20 cm) are a lovely yellow in autumn. Gorgeous spectacular perfumed flowers in June-July, followed by the well-known fruits (chestnuts) that mature in October-November. Thrives in cool climates and on acid mountain terrain.
