Carpinus betulus 'Frans Fontaine'
Tree native to the Netherlands with a compact ovoid or ascending crown. The deciduous leaves are oval, 8 to 10 cm long, bright green in spring, yellow in autumn. The flowers are only male (so it does not produce fruit), gathered in green catkins that appear from April to May. It is very wind-resistant and has no particular cultivation requirements.
