Capparis spinosa Bush

Origin: Europe, India. Shrub which produces very long, thin branches with a few thorns, and if they do not find any support they will droop. Deciduous leaves, oval, coriaceous, bright green. Beautiful, fragrant flowers in summer, white tinged with pink and having wide-open corollas and long stamens from the purple anthers. The buds, picked before they open are delicious “capers”, which are used in many, varied dishes. Suitable for growing in pots as hanging plants, but above all amongst rocks, along rock walls and between the cracks in sun-soaked walls which are made more attractive by the long, weeping branches.
