Brahea argentea (Brahea armata, Erythea argentea, Erythea armata)
Palm native to Mexico and lower California, with a trunk widened at the base. The leaves are large and tough, growing from petioles about 1 meter long, silvery in color with yellow serrated edges. The flowers are cream-white and bloom in summer; the fruits are dark brown, round, about 2 cm in diameter. It suffers in poorly drained and very wet soils, tolerates poor and dry soils, and can also be grown in a pot.
