Brahea

A palm native to Mexico and Baja California, with a trunk that is widened at the base. The leaves are large and tough, emerging from 1-meter-long petioles, silver in color with yellow, toothed edges. The flowers are creamy white and appear in summer. The fruits are dark brown, round, and about 2 cm in diameter. It does not tolerate poorly drained or very humid soils but is resistant to poor and dry soils. It can also be grown in pots.
