Betula utilis 'Doorenbos' (Betula jacquemontii) - Betulla dell'Himalaya
Tree native to the Himalayas which naturally branches from the base but can take the form of a tree in nurseries. The bark is initially dark yellow and then peels off as it turns white. The heart-shaped leaves are dark green and yellow in autumn and reach up to 12 cm wide. The flowers are gathered in pendulous catkins that form later than B. pendula, are green-yellow in color, and 10-12 cm long. It also grows in dry and calcareous soils and has no particular cultivation requirements.
