Betula

Tree with bark that tends to peel over time, and an upright or weeping crown depending on the variety. The deciduous leaves come in various shapes but range from light green to dark green. The flowers are gathered in pendulous yellow-green catkins, and while some species prefer moist soils, it generally grows in all types of soil.
