Bambusa metake (Arundinaria japonica, Pseudosasa japonica)

Clumping bamboo native to East Asia its culms are 2 to 3 cm in diameter straight and covered with green sheaths at first then brown evergreen leaves are bright green on top while the underside is glaucous they are 10 to 30 cm long and 2 to 3 cm wide it tolerates temporary drought and grows well in pots and apartments
