Acer saccharium Bush

Origin: U.S.A. Large deciduous tree that forms a broad pyramidal crown with weeping secondary branches that soften its majestic bulk. Lobate leaves, pale green on the upper side, silvery green underneath; in autumn they turn bright yellow or red, both colours often appearing together, which provides a charming contrast of shades. Pale yellow or red flowers before the leaves followed by winged fruits 4-5cm long. The multi-stemmed tree is very popular. New growth begins early in the spring, tolerates both dry and moist soil, withstands pollution and pruning. The branches can be easily broken by heavy winds.
