Acer platanoides
Native to Europe, the Caucasus, and Asia Minor. Large tree with a broad columnar crown. The deciduous leaves are dark green, turning from golden yellow to red in autumn; they are up to 15 cm long, 10 cm wide, and five-lobed. It blooms in April, before the leaves, with yellow flowers that attract bees. In October it produces brown samaras. It adapts to all soils except peat and marshy ones, ideal for parks and city avenues, and is very resistant to urban environments.
