Acer cappadocicum Rubrum
A. cappadocicum is native to northern Turkey, northern Iran, and the Caucasus, while the “Rubrum” variety was created in Germany. It is a tree with intense purple branches that turn green over time. The deciduous leaves are 8-15 cm long, with 5-7 lobes; they are red-purple when they form, then become bronze-green, and finally turn yellow in autumn. It requires soils that are not too dry and fertile, and should be used alone in gardens, parks, or along avenues.
