Abeliophyllum
Native to Korea, deciduous shrub. Initially upright, it opens and spreads with age. The leaves are dull green, sometimes turning purple in autumn, 5–8 cm long, oval-shaped. Small white flowers with 4 petals, with purple shades on the calyxes and peduncles; they appear between late winter and early spring, clustered along old branches, and smell of almond. It grows in soils that are not too moist.
